One subscription, all maps and features

A Plus subscription brings you more maps and tools. Explore each feature in more detail below.

Plus

Premium maps

The most detailed maps, hillshade and 3D

A Plus subscription unlocks the app's most detailed topographic maps, revealing more features such as natural landmarks, names of buildings and places, and water depth information. Hillshading and 3D maps bring the shape of the terrain clearly into view, so hills, slopes and valleys stand out at a glance. The OpenStreetMap-based outdoor map also shows small paths and trails that you won't always find on standard topographic maps.

Track recording and planning

See your track on the map

Record your hikes, runs and outings, and watch your route appear on the map as you go. See distance, time and speed at a glance. Plan routes ahead of time, measure distances on the map, and outline areas to calculate their surface area. Saved tracks can be pinned to the map, used as reference tracks or shared with others. After your trip, review your progress, speed and elevation in charts. If a heart rate sensor is connected, heart rate data is recorded alongside the track.

Offline maps

No signal? No problem

Download maps for the areas you choose ahead of time, straight to your device. Maps open faster this way and are always available, even where the signal is weak or missing entirely. Downloaded maps also work in flight mode, which helps save battery on longer trips and hikes.

Plus

Cloud synchronisation

Places and tracks saved to your account

Cloud synchronisation automatically saves your places and tracks to your account and keeps them up to date across all your devices. When you switch phones, reinstall the app or use more than one device, your data is automatically restored after you sign in. Your places and tracks stay safely on your account even if the device breaks, is lost, or the app is uninstalled.

Location sharing

See where your friends are

Share your location with other Maastokartat users and follow their movements on your own map. Their movement is shown on the map as a track, just like a track you record yourself, so you can easily see where others are moving and where they have been. The feature makes it easier to travel together in the outdoors and also brings added safety for anyone moving alone.

Plus

Property boundaries and berry maps

More information on the map

See property boundaries and identifiers on top of the map of your choice. Together with the topographic map or aerial imagery, it's easy to see where the boundaries run. The feature is useful for land ownership, hunting and forestry work. Bilberry and lingonberry maps, in turn, complement the base map by showing promising berry terrain.

Lake and sea depths

Help for fishing

On Plus maps, depth information for Finland's lakes and sea areas is shown from various sources, including sounding points, depth contours and depth zones. Depth zones are clearly coloured, making depth differences and underwater shapes easy to see on the map.
